Employers obviously play a vital role in providing students with job opportunities this could

take the form of a work placement involving the student on a structured work experience

on a block (2-4 weeks) or part time basis (e.g 1/2 days a week.) Work visits are also

important and can be an interesting introduction to different workplace.

Often the school makes the initial contact however employers may also contact the school

to outline what they can offer. The benefits of a close relationship between schools

and employers are many.

Employers may also be invited to visit the school to give a presentation to the students

about their workplace. Students may also have contact with employers at careers fairs. 

Another important link to employers is through relatives, family and friends.
